**SCHOOL MESSENGER HELP GUIDE**
Evergreen Local Schools utilizes SchoolMessenger software to send news, updates, and emergency communications to families and employees via email, phone calls, and/or text messages, and new for the 2022-23 school year, the SchoolMessenger app. In planning our return to school this fall, we want to make sure all lines of communication with families are as open as possible so sign up today! Below you will find useful information that will help you stay in touch with your child's teachers and our district.
Evergreen will be replacing Remind with the new SchoolMessenger app for the 2022-23 school year. This app will help you stay in touch with all of your child's teachers and also will be home to district-wide messages. Watch the video to get started!
You can now set up your communication preferences as well! If you would like to add or change a phone number or email in the system, please contact your building secretary.
Getting started with the new SchoolMessenger app
Opting-In for Text Messaging for SchoolMessenger
There are two ways to opt-in to receive messages via SMS text:
(Holy Trinity families please use option 2)
1. When you first sign into the SchoolMessenger App, you will receive a prompt for any phone numbers at which you have not already provided SchoolMessenger consent to receive voice calls. Select “Yes” or “No” as your preference. Your preference will be saved for each of your phone numbers. Consent preferences can be changed at any time through the SchoolMessenger App
2. You may opt-in by sending “Y” or “Yes” via text message to our SchoolMessenger Short Code number: 67587 from any device currently in our system. If you want to receive texts on multiple devices, each device number must complete the Opt-In process.
SchoolMessenger does not charge recipients for the text messages that they receive or send; however, wireless providers may charge for individual text messages, depending on the plan associated with the wireless device. Please consult your carrier if you are uncertain.
