Welcome to Evergreen Elementary

Parent Input Wanted

Over the years, Evergreen Elementary has offered educational and social school programs for our students and families outside of the school day. These programs have been funded by limited funds through the 21st Century Grant Program. Transportation home for the afternoon has been provided for students in grades 2 through 5. Student participation has been fully funded through the grant allowing the children to attend at no cost to their families. The grant stipulates that our school continues to offer school programs outside of the school day when the grant expires after the 2013-2014 school year. In order for us to continue this valuable service to our students and families, we will be required to charge a participation fee in the future. We are asking Evergreen parents to complete an online survey designed to collect parent/guardian input regarding a self-funded program in the future. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.
Please enter the following link in your computer online browser and complete the survey as soon as possible. Your responses will be utilized to determine interest in continuing programs outside of the school day at Evergreen Elementary in the coming years. Thank you.

Dear Visitor,

When you look around our school, you will see a warm inviting building filled with magnificent role models who care about the children we serve. The halls are filled with wonderful examples of creative work and the classrooms are safe places for learning. The building is alive and cheerful and you will never have to look far for a smile or warm conversation. Every day our staff compassionately cares for sick children, cleans up their messes, finds them warm clothing and provides them with good food. To top it all off, we then manage to find wonderful ways to teach them the skills they will need to succeed when they leave our school. Not an hour passes that you won’t see someone wiping a tear, encouraging good efforts, or demonstrating random acts of kindness.

The time you spend in our classrooms, the cafeteria, and hallways will make you believe that we have one of the greatest schools in the world. Our students arrive and depart daily with smiles on their faces. They will be eager to tell you about the wonderful things they do in the classrooms and that they look forward to coming back each and every day. You will be impressed by their conduct during assemblies and their compassion evidenced by community service and volunteer help here at school. All you have to do is ask a community member to tell you about our terrific successes such as our Veteran’s Day celebration, Holiday Musicals and Grandparent's Day to get a flavor of our passion and what we do at Evergreen Elementary.

Our school is what it is because of our students, staff and community. I invite you to visit us to see first hand all the wonderful fruits of our labor. Thank you for visiting our web page and feel free to contact me personally to discuss your questions or concerns as they relate to our school.

Sincerely,
Scott Lockwood
Principal
